UFC on ESPN 14 Medical Suspensions: Two Fighters Facing 180-Day Terms

Two fighters from UFC on ESPN 14 are facing a potentially lengthy time on the sideline following Saturday’s card.

Peter Sobotta, who dropped a unanimous decision to Alex Oliveira in a welterweight contest, is suspended 180 days unless his right forearm is cleared by an x-ray. At a minimum he is suspended 30 days for a left eyelid laceration.

Mike Grundy, who lost to Movsar Evloev by unanimous decision at featherweight, will be out 180 days unless he is cleared by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. At a minimum, Grundy is suspended 30 days with 21 days no contact.

The UFC, which oversaw the event, released a full list of medical suspensions to mixedmartialarts.com. UFC on ESPN 14 took place at the Flash Forum in Abu Dhabi and saw Robert Whittaker defeat Darren Till via unanimous decision in the evening’s headliner. Both Whittaker and Till received 30-day sits.

Everyone on the card received at least a seven-day mandatory medical suspension.

Robert Whittaker: 30 days for scalp and nasal laceration and 21 days no contact

Darren Till: 30 days for hard bout and 21 days no contact

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira: 30 days for hard bout and left shin soreness and 21 days no contact

Alexander Gustafsson: 30 days for submission loss and 21 days no contact

Carla Esparza: 30 days for left eyelid laceration and 21 days no contact

Marina Rodriguez: 30 days for hard bout and 21 days no contact

Paul Craig: 30 days for left eyelid laceration and 21 days no contact

Gadzhimurad Antigulov: 30 days for submission loss and 21 days no contact

Peter Sobotta: 180 days unless right forearm cleared by x-ray and 30 days for left eyelid laceration

Rhys McKee: 45 days due to TKO defeat and 30 days no contact

Francisco Trinaldo: 30 days due ot left cheek laceration and 21 days no contact

Jai Herbert: 45 days due to TKO defeat and 30 days no contact

Nicolas Dalby: 30 days and 21 days no contact

Jake Collier: 45 days due to TKO loss and 30 days no contact

Mike Grundy: 180 days unless cleared by oral and maxillofacial surgeon and 30 days and 21 days no contact

Raphael Pessoa: 45 days for TKO loss and 30 days no contact

Pannie Kianzad: 30 days for hard bout and 21 days no contact

Bethe Correia: 30 days and 21 days no contact

Nathaniel Wood: 30 days for hard bout and 21 days no contact

John Castaneda: 30 days for right eyebrow laceration and 21 days no contact
