UFC on ESPN 11 Bonuses: Emmett vs. Burgos Easy Choice for ‘Fight of the Night’

After two consecutive events with no “Fight of the Night” award, Josh Emmett and Shane Burgos made sure that changed at UFC on ESPN 11.

Emmett and Burgos received $50,000 apiece for their memorable scrap in the Saturday’s featherweight co-main event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. A bout filled with memorable standup exchanges shifted in Emmett’s favor when the Team Alpha Male product floored Burgos twice in the final frame to propel him to a unanimous decision triumph.

Elsewhere, veteran standout Jim Miller pocketed a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” award for a first-round submission of Roosevelt Roberts at lightweight. Miller took his opponent down early, and when Roberts attempted to scramble to his feet, the New Jersey native secured a fight-ending armbar at the 2:25 mark of the period.

Finally, Octagon newcomer Justin Jaynes took home the evening’s other $50,000 “Performance of the Night” award for a quick finish of Frank Camacho in a preliminary lightweight affair. Jaynes dropped his foe with a pair of left hooks and then continued to swarm with punches to earn a stoppage 41 seconds after the fight began.
