After that initial prognosis, Strickland revealed that he underwent knee surgery following the accident and that he expects to be back within a “few months.”
“I was going straight and a car turned into me, and I got into an accident going 45 miles per hour. I was unconscious for about three hours. I got knee surgery last night,” he said. “The doctor said it’s not that bad. I should be back at it in a few months.”
Strickland, 27, last competed at UFC Fight Night 138 in October, when he defeated Nordine Taleb via second-round TKO. Strickland is 7-3 during his Octagon tenure and is 20-3 as a professional overall.
