Sitting atop the card is a potential lightweight barnburner between Dustin Poirier (25-6, 1 NC) and Dan Hooker (20-8). Poirier will be looking to bounce back from a one-sided championship defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in September 2019, while Hooker will try to keep it rolling and make it four wins in a row. The two top-ranked lightweights were booked to compete on this June 27 event, although there was a brief concern about Hooker being able to enter the United States from his home country of New Zealand.
A majority of the bouts listed had already been announced, although the lineup has shifted accordingly. A fight between Alexa Grasso and Ji Yeon Kim that was scheduled for the Austin iteration of this June 27 event has officially been pulled from the lineup. A rumored 150-pound catchweight affair between the unbeaten Sean Woodson and Kyle Nelson was confirmed as taking place on the prelims.
