UFC Fight Night Medical Suspensions: ‘Bigfoot’ Silva Gets 60 Days for Knockout Loss

Brazilian heavyweight Antonio Silva was issued a 60-day medical suspension after being knocked out by Frank Mir in the main event of Sunday’s UFC Fight Night.

The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) on Monday released a list of medical suspensions from the event to Sherdog.com. The suspensions were determined by the commission’s medical staff during post-fight examinations at Gigantinho Gymnasium in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

Silva was dropped by a short left hook from Mir and rendered unconscious with elbow strikes on the ground just 1:40 into the headlining bout. In addition to 60 days without fighting, “Bigfoot” was ordered to wait 45 days before resuming physical contact in training.

Welterweight William Macario, who was knocked out by a first-round Superman punch from Matt Dwyer on the evening’s undercard, was handed a suspension identical to Silva’s.
