Hernandez earned his performance bonus on the strength of a first-round stoppage of Chris Gruetzemacher in a preliminary lightweight clash. The Factory X product had Gruetzemacher reeling early, as he dropped him with a left hook, and when his opponent returned to his feet, Hernandez teed off with a multi-punch combination for the TKO win at the 1:46 mark of Round 1.
Elsewhere, Dana White’s Contender Series alum Adrian Yanez took home some extra income for a quick finish of Victor Rodriguez in a bantamweight showdown on the prelims. A head kick 2:46 into the opening stanza put Rodriguez away and brought Yanez his first Octagon triumph.
Finally, Miles Johns garnered the evening’s final bonus as a result of his third-round knockout of the debuting Kevin Natividad in the card’s opening bout. After racking up a lead on the scorecards through two rounds, Johns left no doubt when he put his foe to sleep with an uppercut 2:51 into Round 3 of their bantamweight encounter.
