UFC Fight Night 180 Medical Suspensions: James Krause Faces Potential 180-Day Term



The knee injury James Krause revealed he suffered in his victory over Claudio Silva at UFC Fight Night 180 could keep him out of action for a significant period of time.

Krause is facing a 180-day medical suspension unless he is cleared by an MRI on his right knee. At a minimum, Krause is suspended 30 days with 21 days of no contact. The UFC, which served as its own regulating body for Saturday’s event, released a full list of medical suspensions to mixedmartialarts.com.

UFC Fight Night 180 took place at the Flash Forum in Abu Dhabi on Saturday and saw Brian Orega take a five-round verdict over Chan Sung Jung in the evening’s featherweight headliner. Ortega received a 30-day sit with 21 days of no contact for a hard bout, while Jung got 45 days with 30 of no contact due to a right eyelid laceration suffered in the contest.

Brian Ortega: 30 days for hard bout and 21 days no contact

Chan Sung Jung: 45 days for right eyelid laceration and hard bout; 30 days no contact

Katlyn Chookagian: 30 days for TKO defeat and 21 days no contact

Modestas Bukauskas: 60 days for KO defeat and 45 days no contact

James Krause: 180 days unless cleared by MRI for right knee; minimum 30 days with 21 days no contact

Claudio Silva: 30 days for left tib/fib and 21 days no contact

Thomas Almeida: 30 days for hard bout and 21 days no contact

Guram Kutateladze: 30 days for left eye hematoma and 21 days no contact

Mateusz Gamrot: 30 days for hard bout and 21 days no contact

Poliana Botelho: 30 days for right eye hematoma and 21 days no contact

Jun Yong Park: 30 days for left eyebrow laceration and 21 days no contact

John Phillips: 30 days for hard bout and 21 days no contact

Fares Ziam: 30 days for hard bout and 21 days no contact

Jamie Mullarkey: 30 days for hard bout and 21 days no contact

Gadzhimurad Antigulov: 45 days for TKO defeat and 30 days no contact

Mark Striegl: 180 days unless cleared by oral and maxillofacial doctor; minimum 60 days for KO defeat and 45 days no contact
