The 21-year-old Puelles, an understudy of Peruvian MMA pioneer “Pitbull” Ivan Iberico, made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 98 in November 2016, suffering a knockout at the hands of Mexico’s Martin Bravo in the second round. “El Nino” was scheduled to return to action at UFC 214 last July against Sage Northcutt, but was forced to bow out due to injury.
Silva, 33, began his career 8-0 with seven stoppages, including a successful Octagon debut at UFC on Fox 21 in August 2016, clobbering Canadian Shane Campbell in just 73 seconds. However, in his second the CM System product suffered his first career loss nearly as quickly at UFC Fight Night 115 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, as he was knocked out by Mairbek Taisumov in only 84 seconds last September.
