Amanda Lemos vs. Leslie Smith

Round 1

Characteristically, Smith begins the bout with forward pressure, walking Lemos back to the perimeter of the cage, attacking with one-two combinations and head kicks. Smith quickly runs Lemos to the ground and looks to pound her, but can't hold her Brazilian foe down. No matter, when Lemos gets back to her feet, Smith uses her size advantage and keeps swarming her opponent, putting Lemos on the fence and dirty boxing her. Lemos is all defense and counters, trying to lace right hands and left hooks to the body around Smith's pressure attack. Smith clinches again, drilling knees and punches to the body, but Lemos gets her wits, lands a two-piece to the body, then lands an outside trip into side control in the dying moments of the round. Lemos tries to get active but Smith regains her feet before the horn.

Round 2

The second stanza begins where the first left off, with hardcore pressure from Leslie Smith, walking Lemos back to the fence with simple one-two combos and head kicks, but being unrelenting, giving no quarter. Lemos tags “The Peacemaker” with a left hook that draws blood from her eye, but Smith just keeps trudging forward, unloading with both hands and every time the Brazilian tries to cover up along the fence, Smith turns up the juice and unloads with four, five, six and seven strikes. Raking hooks get through with both hands as Lemos staggers back to the fence again. She tries to respond, but she's missing and eating clean punches and right elbows from Smith. Referee Rich Mitchell tells Lemos she needs to fight back while being stormed on the fence, but she's turning away and just taking damage now. Smith keeps the heat on and eventually gets the standing stoppage amidst a flurry of strikes.

Brett Johns vs. Albert Morales

Round 1

Aggressive jabs for both bantamweights begin the bout, with each loading up on their respective right hooks, hoping to catch their opponent on the end. Less than a minute in, Johns has an ugly feint and runs into a knee pick, but it works and he puts Morales on the canvas along the fence and sets up from full guard. Morales tries for wrist control, so “The Pikey” postures up in guard and smashes him with elbows. More right punches and elbows from Johns, as the Californian still keeps trying to tie his foe up, but can't really abate his blows. Johns yanks hard on a can opener from full guard like Mark Kerr in his prime, breaking Morales' posture and delivering more ground-and-pound. Left hammerfists for Johns, then he digs to the body, as well. Morales isn't taking critical damage, but he certainly doesn't have an answer for Johns sitting in his open guard punching and hacking away on his face.

Round 2

on the feet, Morales pops his jab and touches Johns nicely, but “The Pikey” keeps pressing and sneaking right hands behind. Morales pivots and lands a nice three-piece, but Johns rips him back and shoots for the legs. After 10 to 15 seconds of jostling, Johns locks his hands and dumps “The Warrior” on the mat and it's back to open guard ground-and-pound. Johns is trying to pass guard, but his passing efforts seem more geared toward making Morales work and defend, as every time the Californian shrimps, Johns punches him and then settles back into guard. Right hands to the body, then to the head for Johns. Morales tries to use butterfly hooks to push his foe away briefly, but Johns smothers him and stays on his GNP grind.

Round 3

Johns is more keen to exchange on the feet to begin the final frame, but Morales is still the cleaner boxer, dinging the Welshman with jabs and right crosses. Johns sneaks in right hands here and there, but he is nowhere near as clean and technical as “The Warrior.” Almost on the same 60-second timer as the first two rounds, once a minute has passed, Johns runs Morales in the fence, locks his hands and dumps him in almost the same position. This time. Morales turtles while trying to scramble up and exposes his back, allowing “The Pikey” to put both hooks in and box his ears. Johns punches under and above the arm and Morales rolls to his back, recovering guard but ending up in the same position he's been in for most of the fight. Johns keeps punching and grinding, more earnestly trying to pass guard this time while Morales works his butterfly hooks. Johns frames up an arm-triangle choke and although he is trying to pass to the side of the encroaching cage, he's got solid shoulder position. He can't quite pull out of quarter guard and get all the way to the side and Morales frees himself, but there's less than 30 seconds to go now and Morales is out of meaningful options. Johns just rifles him with right hands while talking trash until the horn. Upon the end, both men roll to their back, then slap each other on the chest in congratulation in a sign of sportsmanship.

Daniel Henry vs. David Teymur

Round 1

Teymur closes the distance on the much taller, rangier Henry quickly. Henry firing his right hand to keep Teymur off of him, but Teymur is cracking him with clean leg kicks and overhand rights to begin. Right hook lands for Henry, but it only inspires Teymur, who rips him with an overhand right, then unloads with both hands, rocking his foe. Brief headlock for Teymur, looking for a choke, but Henry escapes, albeit eating another left hand from Teymur on the break. Henry starting to activate, throwing his own low kicks now, but as he gets comfortable, Teymur kicks his plant leg out on a kick, stumbling him to the mat and jumping into full guard. The Swedish-based fighter chips away with GNP, then stands up into Ali-Inoki position, drilling the supine Henry with kicks to the legs. With 60 seconds left in the round, referee Grant Waterman tells Henry to stand, where he changes southpaw and eats more damage from the accurate Teymur.

Round 2

Henry isn't scared to engage, but his hand speed is far behind Teymur's, who continues pressing him, countering with ducking left hooks, then bringing the overhand right back over the top. Henry runs forward on a lead knee and Teymur just misses with a winging overhand left. Another right windmill from Teymur lands, prompting the Scotsman to shoot. Teymur denies him, then lands a right elbow and a knee to the body, assuming control the clinch. Henry tries a spinning back fist, whiffs, then eats another Teymur right elbow. Sneaky one-two gets through for Henry and he rocks Teymur to his heels. He attacks Teymur, who shoots into a sloppy takedown and nearly gets guillotined. Henry on top, forcing Teymur to scramble and he nearly takes his back, but the Swedish-based fighter gets to his feet quickly. Teymur still loading up on overhand rights, just missing their target. With less than 90 seconds, Henry is getting aggressive on a tiring Teymur. Clinch knees, then a salvo of punches put Teymur on his seat right in front of his own corner. Teymur appears less rocked than exhausted now as Henry moves into full mount with 30 seconds to go. Big, unblocked right hands from the Scot, smashing on Teymur. Teymur rolls, Henry sinks both of his hooks and works for the choke. Time winding down as Henry squeezes and Teymur escapes the round by virtue of the horn.

Round 3

Henry using his length well now, avoiding a tiring Teymur's swipes, landing stepping knees to the body and long rights. Right cross smashes into Teymur's face and back him up. Teymur is reaching with his punches, attempting spinning attacks and just eating punches. Another right hook from Henry puts Teymur back to the fence and the Scotsman shoots, switching from a double to a single. Teymur is able to defend, but with the aid of the cage. Referee Grant Waterman pulls Teymur's hand of the fence and he goes down quick. Teymur slides up the fence, but he's eating right hands from Henry, who is keen to take his back again with over three minutes to go in the round. Henry gets one hook in and locks his ankles and when Teymur tries to roll free, Henry takes full mount. Henry bases down low, looking to hold his position while he boxes Teymur's ears and controls his posture. Two minutes left in the fight and Teymur is too exhausted to escape, so Henry wisely focuses on his position, holding full mount and only punching away when Teymur lets his guard down briefly. Teymur keeps pushing down on Henry's thigh to shrimp away, but can't quite get there. With less than a minute to go, Teymur turns over and turtles, trying to climb the fence to his feet but he's simply too gassed. Henry controls him, then takes his back again, punching away with lefts. Both hooks back in now. The bout ends with Henry in full control, punching away and looking for a last-second rear-naked choke.

Galore Bofando vs. Charlie Ward

Round 1

Bofando takes the outside of the cage, switching stances, ducking and feinting, throwing lunging hooks, axe kicks and side kicks. Ward avoids the flashy karate routine, trying to step into the clinch and swarm. More flicking kicks and posturing from Bofando and Ward runs into the clinch, grabbing over-unders. From the clinch, Bofando just throws the Irishman off of him, shrugging him to the floor with purchase. Somehow, Ward goes face-first at the canvas and flatlines on impact. It's not identical to Falaniko Vitale-Matt Lindland 1, but it's not far off. Ward appears to drill his right temple off the hardest part of the Octagon canvas and is out immediately. Bofando attacks with hammerfists and referee Marc Goddard is impressively on the awkward stoppage in a heartbeat, saving Ward from further punishment.

Alexandre Pantoja vs. Neil Seery

Round 1

It's the retirement bout for the 37-year-old Neil Seery. Both men come out with hard low kicks, looking to smash hook combinations over top of them. Pantoja remains more active with his kicks while Seery begins to find his overhand right. Seery turns around on a missed low kick and eats a right hook from Pantoja that stumbles him briefly, but the Irishman regains his wits and feet quickly. Seery seeks to clinch twice, both times eating overhand rights from the Brazilian. Body shot, then two overhand rights, a clinch and knees from Pantoja. The Brazilian is all over “2 Tap” to start the first round. Seery looks for an ugly double and is easily denied by Pantoja, who is really getting comfortable with his compliment of punches, knees and low kicks. Nice right uppercut for Seery sneaks through, but he eats a left hook and another outside low kick to his lead leg. Two nice left hooks for Seery, but Pantoja then tags him with a right and a jumping knee to the body. They exchange hooks, both men largely blocking the other's attack before the horn.

Round 2

Seery still wants to exchange, but can't avoid his opponent's chopping overhand rights. Pantoja lands two, segues into a collar tie and begins drilling Seery with knees to the face and body along the fence. The Irishman's face is now bloodied. The Brazilian keeps on his dirty boxing game for 60 seconds until Seery frees himself, having eaten a bevy of short punches and knees. From range now, Seery lands a wild right uppercut, but Pantoja smiles and nods his head, diving into another collar tie and dirty boxing “2 Tap” along the fence. He breaks and drills his target with a hard overhand right, but Seery is undeterred. Inside low kick-right hook for Pantoja, but he eats a right from Seery too. Another clinch from Pantoja, a knee to the body and a break. Pantoja's output slowing now as Seery gets more active with his jab, but the Brazilian is still landing cleaner and harder, especially as he begins to work his kicks to the body. Hooks for both men land, then Seery lands a hard outside low kick to punctuate his own combo. Another hard right from Seery, but no real effect on Pantoja.

Round 3

Seery fighting like it's the last round of his MMA career, unloading with both hands. Pantoja obliges him, walking him back to the fence, but the minute the Brazilian gets a chance, he changes levels, shoots a double and gets it. “The Cannibal” sets up in half guard, looking to pass to mount and nearly gets it quickly, into quarter mount and pushing hard to free his other foot. Pantoja gets good head control, sneaks his right foot out and gets full mount with just under four minutes left. Seery bucks and rolls, exposing his back and allows Pantoja to sink both hooks, then a body triangle. The Brazilian whips right hands at his ears and face while angling for the rear-naked choke. The Irishman ties up Pantoja's right arm, playing two-on-one to not get choked, but Pantoja gets his hands free and in a quick flourish, sinks the RNC. Seery struggles momentarily, then taps.

Bobby Nash vs. Danny Roberts

Round 1

The southpaw Roberts willingly takes the outside, circling Nash and trying to land hot left-handed counters. Both men feinting hard, but from distance, Roberts is controlling business with his low kicks, periodically stepping in with his left cross. Both men land hard hooks as Roberts steps into a collar tie, allowing both fighters to land some flurrying uppercuts. Nash is the pressuring fighter now, recognizing Roberts is content to counter, then tricks the Brit with a crafty level change, dumping him on the mat with three minutes gone in the bout. “Hot Chocolate” shrimps his way back to the cage, trying to wall walk, but Nash remains glued to his hips, holding him down and reaffirming the position. With 60 seconds left, Roberts snakes up the cage and rips Nash with a right hand, but Nash double-legs him right back down to the mat. Roberts works butterfly hooks to push away, rolling to the turtle position, but winds up in a front headlock, which Nash uses to threaten an anaconda choke until the horn.

Round 2

Roberts flexes more in-out movement to begin the second stanza, but Nash keeps moving forward with his own kicks and lead left hook, clearly hoping to time a rushing Roberts. At the one-minute mark, he ducks under and attacks the hips, but Roberts sees it coming and stuffs him. “Nashty” gets his man back to the fence with a clinch but can't corral him fully. Roberts comes forward and Nash wards him off with an inside low kick, but it's just a little too inside, tagging “Hot Chocolate” on the cup. Referee Grant Waterman calls for a momentary break and warns Nash as Roberts walks and squats the foul off for 30 seconds or so. The round resumes with three and a half minutes to go. Nash setps into a one-two, and while his jab misses, the right cross lands flush on Roberts' chin. The Brit shoots now and Nash sprawls easily, working the front headlock once more. Roberts puts himself on the mat to avoid being kneed in the head, Nash tries to turn the corner and take the back, but Roberts regains his feet. Nash keeps motoring for takedowns, driving Roberts to the mat from a rear waistlock and trying hard to take the back. Roberts eventually turns, sprawls and gets a headlock of his own, but the American escapes with less than 90 seconds left in the round. Hard body kick from Roberts. As Nash steps back and tries to throw, Roberts unloads with a counter left hook that instantly collapses his foe on the mat. Nash stares blankly at an oncoming Roberts, but before “Hot Chocolate” can jump in and scald Nash too badly, Grant Waterman dives in to rescue the downed fighter. Sudden and exciting knockout by Danny Roberts.

James Mulheron vs. Justin Willis

Round 1

To start ... well, it's a UFC undercard heavyweight bout. The southpaw Willis slowly advances on Mulheron, jabbing and kicking. Mostly through the first two minutes, both men are feinting heavily, just pumping purposeless jabs at one another until Willis shoots a double and puts Mulheron on the ground a moment. Without much ground-and-pound delivered, Mulheron slips up the fence and back to feet. The Brit is loading up on his right hand, hoping to time Willis on the way in. Nothing doing, with neither man landing clean before the horn.

Round 2

Mulheron leads with a Superman punch that makes contact, but neither heavyweight has landed with real stopping power yet. Mulheron is starting to slip his right hand into the mix as Willis becomes more tentative. Both men trade inside low kicks, then whiff on power hooks. Overhand right lands for the American, and Mulheron attempts to respond with another Superman punch, but hits nothing but air. Willis eventually ducks under a lazy-swinging Mulheron down to the mat, landing in half guard and feeding him short left hands until the round expires.

Round 3

Willis remains largely inactive, but while Mulheron is able to trudge forward and crack him from time to time, the American is still landing the cleaner, harder shots on his charging opponent. Willis keeps pumping counters out and tagging Mulheron, but the Brit keeps winding up and swinging, forcing the American to shoot with 90 seconds to go. Willis works hard for his takedown and eventually gets it with just more than a minute to spare in the contest. Mulheron tries to snake up the fence and while he gets to his feet, he remains ensnared in a clinch with Willis controlling, kneeing him to the legs and body until the final horn mercifully sounds.

Paul Craig vs. Khalil Rountree

Round 1

The leftie Rountree has his lead hand down, looking to explicitly counter Craig, who works his jab and kicks from distance, looking to maintain his reach advantage. Rountree continues to lead with the right hook, but is just glancing with his power left behind it. He can't quite crack Craig, though. Craig throws a leg kick, misses and eats a big left hook off the bat. Swarming left uppercut from Rountree, then when the Scotsman shoots, Rountree sprawls and lands his trademark soccer kick to the ribs off the counter. Rountree keeps advancing Craig back to the cage and unloads a left head kick. Craig blocks it, but walks face-first into a short left uppercut from the TUF alum that drops him. Not only does Rountree follow up, he does it with incredibly accurate hammerfists that drill the Scot straight on the chin, separating him from consciousness.

Ryan Janes vs. Jack Marshman

Round 1

Janes wants a takedown clearly, but is content to circle the outside, looking for a counter chance to shoot and get the bout to the mat. Marshman, however, trots forward hard on his lead leg with no fear of the lead leg kick, bombing with both hands. Jabs and hook combinations consistently rock the Canadian's head back while he circles side-to-side, looking for an opening. Marshman working his lead left uppercut now to ding Janes, as well. Double jab backs Janes up, but the right cross behind it smashes Janes' head back again. Janes isn't getting ripped apart, but is getting hit completely flush in the exchanges from boxing distance. In the last minute of the round, Janes tries to get active, punching behind lead kicks to the body, but Marshman is just whacking him on every counter exchange. Lead check hook rocks Janes' head back again, the Canadian runs Marshman into the fence and the first round ends there.

Round 2

Marshman is a bit arm-weary starting the second frame, not throwing heavy counters as hard or fast at Janes, who still idly kicks from the outside. Nonetheless, the Canadian has nowhere near the handcraft of the Welshman, running face-first into punches and getting his head snapped back regularly. For whatever reason, Janes seems to have settled into this one-sided kickboxing contest, no longer even looking for takedowns as Marshman continues boxing him up, albeit more economically. One-two, one-two from Marshman and all four punches rake Janes in the face. He keep firing away, prompting a shot from the Canadian that is easily defended. Marshman separates and continues stalking, predictably landing the same basic combinations on Janes, who continues circling back and forth with no real idea of how to avoid the punches.

Round 3

Marshman's face is starting to show a little redness, but even as the final frame begins, it's still the Welshman in Janes' face, attacking and tagging him. Janes is finding more success as Marshman doesn't bother to block his body kicks, but he is still eating counters from his slowing opponent. Hard right body kick by Janes, but his double attempt behind it is weak and stuffed. Janes is remaining out of range of Marshman's punches that were much more effective in the first 10 minutes, as a fatigued Marshman is pushing his strikes and not using his feet any more. Janes is the man moving forward throughout the third round, but outside of his body kicks, can't land anything meaningful on Marshman. Finally, Janes cracks his target with an overhand right and moves his man back to the fence, dirty boxing briefly. Referee Rich Mitchell calls for a break, as Marshman circles away and spits his mouthguard out. His corner rinsed it and comedically, Marshman drops it on the mat before replacing it. Less than 60 seconds to go as Janes is now chasing his man, throwing with all his has. Long casting left hook lands for Janes on a retreating Marshman, who is still landing counters, but is being cloistered by Janes' pressure until the final horn sounds.

Paul Felder vs. Steven Ray

Round 1

Both men eager to exchange jabs and low kicks at the bout's outset. Ray is attacking the legs, while Felder wants the body. Felder lands a hard counter right, prompting a clinch from the Scotsman. They work from over-unders, both pummelling and landing short punches. The Scottish crowd begins to chant as their man pins the American to the fence, landing short elbows on the inside. Felder briefly shoots, then comes up top and drills Ray with a clean knee to the chin as they continue jockeying for position. They continue trading short shots until the American swims to the collar tie and drops Ray with a clean knee from the clinch. The man with the “It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia” cameo dives on top but keeps his patience, looking for clean shots. Ray appears to recover briefly, but the minute he tries to go for wrist control, Felder unloads with a stream of elbows to the jaw that knock the native fighter out cold on his back.

Joanne Calderwood vs. Cynthia Calvillo

Round 1

Calvillo occupies the outside, clearly with no intent of striking with Calderwood, who begins establishing his low-kick offense quickly. Quick shot by Calvillo is denied and she circles away, but continues to drop in lunging rights to help set up future shot attempts. Calvillo stays outside, periodically kicking then darting in with two-punch combos, hoping to find her waist to the Scottish fighter's waist. Neither woman is landing clean, but at the very least, Calderwood is touching Calvillo's legs and body with her kicks, albeit not with full impact. With less than a minute to go, Calvillo shoots an ugly double, but as Calderwood defends, she exposes her back. Calvillo sinks both hooks, instantly looking for the rear-naked choke, then transitions into an armbar. “Bad Mofo Jojo” rolls, but winds up in the spider web. Fortunately for her, the first-round horn sounds as Calvillo is trying to break her grip.

Round 2

The first minute of the second round is an exercise in wasted movement, with both women feinting and feigning attacking, with no real results. Just past the 60-second mark, Calvillo steps inside on a teep and snaps Calderwood's head back with a left cross. Still, it's largely ineffectual kicks from both women on the feet amounting to nothing, while Calvillo patiently looks for takedown opportunities. The American pushes forward off of another Calderwood kick and lands a one-two, but moments later she opts for a roundhouse, allowing Calderwood to teep her to the gut and knock her to the mat, drawing a roar from her partisan crowd. Calderwood's nose is now busted wide open, streaming blood down into her mouth. Still, “Dr. Kneevil” is trudging forward, throwing her kicks while Calvillo seeks to counter and perhaps open up a takedown. Another clean left hook from Calvillo lands, then an overhand right. She starts to feel herself and imbued with confidence, throws a spinning back elbow; Calderwood drills her with a counter hook that stumbles her, prompting grins from both strawweights. Calvillo touching with her own low kicks, but Calderwood is still touching her more and certainly landing more volume, succeeding with her pressure. Calderwood keeps it up to the horn, but eats a big right hand from Calvillo just before the round's end.

Round 3

It's the same story to begin the third and final round, as Calvillo casually circles, lobbing kicks out at an attacking Calderwood, who is throwing with much more conviction. Brief, half-hearted takedown attempt by Calvillo, but Calderwood turns her away. Calderwood has basically given up throwing her hands as Calvillo looks to land her leather over top of the Scotswoman's kicks. Lead left hook for Calvillo registers, but Calderwood keeps flinging her legs out, thwarting potential punch rushes, even if she isn't landing hard or clean. Nice left head kick for Calderwood sneaks in, but Calvillo tags her with the overhand right behind it. Calvillo's corner is screaming for her to back up Calderwood, but the American prospect continues to play off the counter, circling around her target, picking and choosing opportunities. The one-minute clapper sounds, Calvillo looks for an outside trips and eats punches. Right roundhouse kick to the body by Calderwood, but when she goes back to the well, Calvillo grabs her ankle, trips her and almost instantly takes her back. Both hooks are in with 30 seconds to go and Calvillo is pushing for the rear-naked choke. With under 10 seconds left, Calvillo sinks her left arm under the jaw and has the RNC fully applied, but the horn saves Calderwood in a razor-thin, close fight bound for the scorecards.

Gunnar Nelson vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio

Round 1

Ponzinibbio is in Nelson's face to start, but the Icelandic fighter back his man up with a surprising one-two, stumbling him and reddening left eye. Nelson maintains his wide karate stance, darting in on a retreating Ponzinibbio. The Argentinian gets his footing in the middle of the cage and lands a counter right hook that stuns and stumbles Nelson. As his foe retreats to the cage, Ponzinibbio is all over him with punches. Nelson smoothly parries the first few shots of a long punching combo, but can't catch a left cross that goes through his guard. Ponzinibbio drills Nelson right on the chin, dropping him in a heap along the fence, following up with ground-and-pound. Nelson is toast and referee Leon Roberts recognizes it quickly, diving in to protect the downed fighter from any further damage from a wailing Ponzinibbio.
