UFC Fight Night 112 Medical Suspensions: Chiesa, Five Others Facing 180-Day Layoffs



Michael Chiesa is one of six fighters facing a potential six-month layoff following UFC Fight Night 112.

The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission released a list of medical suspensions from the event on Tuesday. UFC Fight Night 112 took place at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Sunday night.

Chiesa suffered a first-round submission loss to Kevin Lee in the evening’s lightweight main event. “Maverick” will be sidelined 180 days unless he receives doctor’s clearance for a possible left shoulder injury. At a minimum, he will be out 30 days with no contact for 21 days due to a scalp laceration.

Five other fighters also received 180-day suspensions at UFC Fight Night 112: Tim Boetsch (right foot and shin), Felice Herrig (left wrist), Vitor Miranda (right ankle), Devin Powell (left ankle) and Johnny Case (hand, foot/ankle and nose).

Michael Chiesa: Suspended 180 days or requires doctor’s clearance on potential left shoulder injury; minimum suspension 30 days no contest, 21 days no contact due to scalp laceration

Tim Boetsch: Suspended 180 days or requires doctor’s clearance on potential right foot and shin injuries

Felice Herrig: Suspended 180 days or requires doctor’s clearance on potential left wrist injury; regardless, minimum suspension 30 days no contest, 21 days no contact for precautionary reasons

Vitor Miranda: Suspended 180 days or requires doctor’s clearance on potential right ankle injury; regardless, minimum suspension 30 days no contest, 21 days no contact due to left ear and nasal lacerations

Devin Powell: Suspended 180 days or requires doctor’s clearance on potential left ankle injury

Johnny Case: Suspended 180 days or requires doctor’s clearance on potential hand, foot/ankle, and nose injuries; minimum suspension 60 days no contest, 45 days no contact due to a left-orbital laceration

Joachim Christensen: Suspended 45 days, no contact 30 days for precautionary reasons

B.J. Penn: Suspended 45 days, no contact 30 days for precautionary reasons

Michel Quinones: Suspended 45 days, no contact 30 days for precautionary reasons

Josh Stansbury: Suspended 45 days, no contact 30 days for precautionary reasons

Johny Hendricks: Suspended 30 days, no contact 21 days for precautionary reasons

Justine Kish: Suspended 30 days, no contact 21 days due to a left eyebrow laceration

Marvin Vettori: Suspended 30 days, no contact 21 days for precautionary reasons

Tony Martin: Suspended 30 days, no contact 21 days for precautionary reasons
