UFC Cuts Heavyweight Jared Rosholt Despite 6-2 Octagon Record

Jared Rosholt is no longer part of the Ultimate Fighting Championship roster.

Sherdog.com confirmed the heavyweight’s release with a promotion official on Wednesday after Canadian radio host and UFC rankings panelist Steve Jeffery revealed on Twitter that Rosholt had been removed from the UFC rankings index.

Rosholt exits the UFC with a 6-2 mark inside the Octagon. However, his last outing, a unanimous decision loss to Roy Nelson at UFC Fight Night “Hendricks vs. Thompson,” was a largely listless affair. That loss ended a three-fight winning streak for “The Big Show,” who had bested Stefan Struve, Timothy Johnson and Josh Copeland in his previous three outings.

Rosholt, a three-time NCAA All-American wrestler at Oklahoma State University, went the distance in five of his six UFC triumphs, including wins over Walt Harris, Daniel Omielanczuk and Soa Palelei to begin his tenure. The 29-year-old Texas resident is 14-3 over the course of a pro career that began in 2011.
