A huge bantamweight scrap is in the works for the 2021 Ultimate Fighting Championship card on Super Bowl weekend.

According to ESPN on Friday, Cory Sandhagen (13-2) will be taking on Frankie Edgar (24-8-1) in the co-main event of the UFC Fight Night card on Feb. 6. That event is expected to take place at the Flash Forum on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Emirates. The two were originally paired against one another in January, but Edgar was pulled from that bout to remain at featherweight.

Sandhagen rebounded from a title eliminator defeat to Aljamain Sterling in June by knocking out Marlon Moraes with a rare spinning wheel kick in October. In doing so, he became the first fighter from below lightweight to notch this kind of knockout in company history. His defeat to Sterling before the Moraes knockout snapped an impressive seven-fight win streak including five inside the Octagon, where he prevailed over the likes of Raphael Assuncao and John Lineker on the way up.

Former lightweight king Edgar took his first trip to 135 pounds in August, and he prevailed in a thriller over Pedro Munhoz by split verdict. That win ended a two-fight skid with a featherweight championship defeat to Max Holloway followed by a first-round knockout at the hands of Chan Sung Jung. By beating Munhoz, Edgar became one of a very small number of fighters to earn three wins at three different weight categories, joining the likes of Kenny Florian, Jared Cannonier, and most recently, Jake Collier.

The UFC Fight Night event on Feb. 6 is likely to take place on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The marquee matchup comes at heavyweight, when Alistair Overeem and Alexander Volkov lock horns. Other major bouts on the card include a lightweight rematch between Diego Ferreira and Beniel Dariush, while Michael Johnson contends with Clay Guida also at lightweight.
