UFC 264 Gains Niko Price-Michel Pereira Welterweight Battle

A sure-fire Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight banger that practically guarantees a wild result will go down in July.

According to Brazilian outlet AgFight on Thursday, Michel Pereira (25-11, 2 NC) will come to blows with Niko Price (14-4, 2 NC) on July 10. The welterweight thriller will be part of UFC 264, which will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The pairing has since been confirmed by the promotion.

The high-flying Pereira bounded into the UFC with a pair of dramatic knockouts under the Road FC banner in 2018 and 2019. From there, “Demolidor” made good in his promotional debut by scorching Danny Roberts with a flying knee and lethal right hand to follow. A deflating decision loss to Tristan Connelly came before he was disqualified against Diego Sanchez for throwing an illegal knee to start his 2020 campaign. Since then, Pereira handed Zelim Imadaev his first career defeat by putting him to sleep with a rear-naked choke, and he overcame the surging Kalinn Williams in December on the scorecards.

Price has not recorded win since he upkicked James Vick in October 2019 to record an instant “Knockout of the Year” contender were it not for Jorge Masvidal icing Ben Askren three months earlier. A wild rematch with Vicente Luque ended by doctor stoppage after Price’s eye was badly damaged. In his last outing, “The Hybrid” fought to a draw with Donald Cerrone. The Florida native maintains a stellar finish rate of 93 percent.

UFC 264 will go down on July 10 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with a lightweight rubber match between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor serving as the headliner. Other key matchups on the card include a high-stakes welterweight tilt between Gilbert Burns and Stephen Thompson, as well as a 170-pound clash pitting the unbeaten Sean Brady against Kevin Lee.
