UFC 212 Preliminary Card Averages 732,000 Viewers on Fox Sports 1

The UFC 212preliminary card attracted an average audience of 732,000 viewers to Fox Sports 1, according to ShowBuzz Daily.

Last Saturday’s prelim card began on Fox Sports 2 because the Major League Baseball game on FS1 between the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds went into extra innings. That portion of the card, which saw Brian Kelleher upset Iuri Alcantara with a first-round guillotine choke, averaged 212,000 viewers on FS2.

The UFC 212 prelims drew a 0.29 in the 18-to-49 year-old demographic on FS1 and a 0.08 in that same group on FS2.

In the featured preliminary bout of the evening, Raphael Assuncao take a controversial split decision over debuting former World Series of Fighting champion Marlon Moraes. While ratings might have been impacted by the split broadcast, the figure is still well below the 2017 average of 941,000 for pay-per-view prelims. Last month, the UFC 211 prelims averaged 1.184 million viewers on FX, the best ratings for a pay-per-view preliminary card so far this year.

UFC 212 took place at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro and saw Max Holloway stop Jose Aldo via third-round technical knockout to unify the featherweight championship in the evening’s main event.
