A counter right from Price folded Means backward in the opening stanza of their welterweight bout at the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kan., and “The Dirty Bird” was finished for good with follow-up hammerfists moments later at the 4:50 mark of the period. The FIT-NHB product revealed via Instagram that he will need to undergo surgery to repair the injuries suffered in the fight.

I do my best to leave it all in the ring every time out so the fans can get what they paid for,” Means wrote. “Wasn’t my night. I have to get surgery broken [tibia] and ankle. Niko caught me with a punch and my foot got stuck under me. Much respect to [Price]. See y’all down the road. Thank you to everyone for the kind words.”

Means has won just twice in his last seven Octagon appearances. The 35-year-old New Mexican has established a reputation as an action fighter during his UFC career and has compiled 10-8 record with one no contest over two separate promotional tenures.
