‘The Ultimate Fighter 15’ Finale Draws 1,628 Spectators, $195,250 Live Gate




The official numbers are in for “The Ultimate Fighter 15” Finale.

The UFC event, which was held at the Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on June 1, earned a live gate of $195,250, according to figures released by the Nevada Athletic Commission on Wednesday.

The card featured a main event clash between Top-10 welterweights Martin Kampmann and Jake Ellenberger. After being dropped by a left hook from Ellenberger in round one, the Dane responded in the second frame, folding his foe with a knee in the clinch at the 1:40 mark.

Also, Mike Chiesa survived an early barrage from Al Iaquinta to submit the Serra-Long Fight Team member with a rear-naked choke at 2:47 of the opening round to win Season 15 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”

The event was attended by a total of 1,628 spectators. Of those in attendance, 954 paid for admission, while another 674 received complimentary tickets. There were 514 tickets that were neither sold nor comped by the UFC.
