Terrance McKinney KOs Michael Irizarry in LFA 109 Main Event

Terrance McKinney cemented himself as a must-watch action fighter in the LFA 109 main event.

The Legacy Fighting Alliance's 160-pound catchweight main event lived up to the hype as McKinney (10-3) came out swinging wildly. The fight would go to the floor, where McKinney landed devastating shots from guard that knocked Michael Irizarry completely out in brutal fashion. With the defeat after just 1:12 of action, Irizarry drops to 11-4.

In the co-main event, Askar Askar took on Justin Wetzell at bantamweight. Wetzell (7-1) had a hot start early and rocked Askar (11-2), but "AK-47" managed to get back into the fight. However, the impressive wrestling of Wetzell allowed him to control Askar and land dozens of punches to the head. The fight was waved off at 2:21 of Round 2.

Edwin Cooper Jr. proved that he's a featherweight prospect to watch against Robson Junior. After taking Junior (3-1) down, Cooper Jr. (4-1) was able to land a barrage of damaging punches. However, several strayed to the back of the head, which led to Cooper Jr. being docked a point. Despite the deduction, Cooper Jr. stayed in control and finished the fight at 1:31 of Round 2 with a series of unanswered punches.

In women's flyweight action, Ky Bennett put on a dominant performance against Gerrica Trias. Bennett (2-2) was able to constantly take Trias (1-1) down over the first two rounds. Trias came out swinging to start Round 3 and hurt her opponent badly. However, Trias got overly reckless swinging and was taken down as a result. Bennett would control the rest of the round and received scores of 30-26, 29-28 and 30-27 in her favor.

Jacobi Jones made Caleb Hall pay for disrespecting his team at Factory X. Jones (2-0) bloodied up Hall (2-1) on the feet and nearly finished the fight with a rear-naked choke in Round 2. While both lightweights were showing fatigue in the final frame, Jones was able to take the fight to the ground and won a clear decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-27) from the judges.

The opening bout of the main card saw flyweights Manuel Medina and Kevin Fernandez duke it out over three rounds. Both men had their moments and looked far more experienced than their records indicate. Eventually, Fernandez (1-0) found an edge in the grappling department, which allowed him to take Medina (1-2) down. In the end, the judges favored the work of Fernandez as they all scored the fight 29-28 for him.

In preliminary action, Haris Talundzic (3-0) submitted Gabriel Gideon (0-1) with a rear-naked choke at 1:05 of Round 1, and Luis Kenneth Schwenke (3-0) defeated Ingrid Sewa (0-1) via unanimous decision with scores of 29-25, 28-27 and 29-25.
