Tecia Torres-Marina Rodriguez Matchup Among Several Added to UFC Uruguay

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has added several solid matchups to its inaugural trip to Uruguay, including a strawweight tilt between Tecia Torres and Marina Rodriguez.

According to the promotion's official press release on Friday, Torres (10-4) will be fighting at UFC Fight Night 156 against the unbeaten Rodriguez (11-0-1) at strawweight. Additionally, the UFC has made official two previously announced fights, while adding four more new matches.

Torres is on the longest skid of her career, losing three straight all by decision to current champ Jessica Andrade, Joanna Jedrzejczyk and upcoming title challenger Weili Zhang. Never losing by stoppage, all but one of her 14 career bouts have reached the final bell. Her lone finish victory came at the TUF 25 Finale when she tapped out Juliana Lima with a rear-naked choke.

Rodriguez earned a spot in the UFC at the Brazilian version of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series, knocking out Maria de Oliveira Neta in the first round to win a contract. From there, she made her debut with a draw against Randa Markos, together earning the first draw in the division's short history and the third in women's divisions. In her last outing, she beat Jessica Aguilar across three rounds at UFC on ESPN 2 to keep her unbeaten record intact.

Two bouts already announced were also made official by this press release, including the pivotal flyweight fight between Rogerio Bontorin (15-1, 1 NC) and Raulian Paiva (18-2) as well as the women's flyweight battle between Taila Santos (15-1) and Ashlee Evans-Smith (6-4).

New matchups include one at featherweight, where "The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America" Season 2 winner Enrique Barzola (15-4-1) will face Bobby Moffett (14-4). Also, women's flyweights Veronica Macedo (5-3-1) and Rachael Ostovich (4-5) are set to square off inside the Octagon. A pair of heavyweight debutants will go head-to-head as Ciryl Gane (0-0) meets Raphael Pessoa (9-0). Finally, Geraldo de Freitas Jr. (12-4) collides with Chris Gutierrez (13-4-1) at bantamweight.

UFC Fight Night 156 takes place on Aug. 10 at the Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay. The event will currently has no headliner scheduled, although in addition to those aforementioned contests, Rodolfo Vieira will reportedly make his UFC debut against Oskar Piechota.
