‘TUF 22’ Finale Medical Suspensions: Tony Ferguson, Two Others Facing 6 Months

Tony Ferguson is one of three fighters from “The Ultimate Fighter 22” finale facing a potential six-month layoff.

According to medical suspensions released by the Nevada Athletic Commission, Ferguson must have a CT scan of his head or he will be sidelined until June 11. At the very least, he is suspended until Feb. 10 with no contact until Jan. 26 for lacerations.

Ferguson and Edson Barboza engaged in one of 2015’s best bouts at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on Friday night before “El Cucuy” brought an end to the lightweight contest with a brabo choke 2:54 into the second frame. Barboza has been suspended until Jan. 26 with no contact until Jan. 11 for scalp lacerations on his forehead.

Two other fighters from the card received potential six-month suspensions: Ryan LaFlare (right hand/thumb) and Chris Gruetzemacher (forearms).

Tony Ferguson: Requires CT scan of head or no contest until 6/11. Minimum suspension and no contest until 2/10, no contact until 1/26 for lacerations.

Ryan LaFlare: Requires right hand/thumb x-ray to rule out fracture, if results are positive needs orthopedic doctor clearance or no contest until 6/11. Minimum suspension and no contest until 1/11, no contact until 1/2.

Chris Gruetzemacher: Must have left and right forearms cleared by doctor or no contest until 6/11. Minimum suspension and no contest until 1/11, no contact until 1/2.

Chad Mendes: Suspended until 1/26, no contact until 1/11.

Edson Barboza: Suspended until 1/26, no contact until 1/11 for two scalp lacerations on forehead.

Evan Dunham: Suspended until 1/26, no contact until 1/11 for laceration over right eyebrow.

Joe Lauzon: Suspended until 1/11, no contact until 1/2.

Jason Knight: Suspended until 2/10, no contact until 1/26 for laceration on left cheek.

Tatsuya Kawajiri: Suspended until 1/11, no contact until 1/2.

Konstantin Erokhin: Suspended until 1/11, non contact until 1/2 for thumb injury.

Mike Pierce: Suspended until 1/26, no contact until 1/11.

Joby Sanchez: Suspended until 1/26, no contact until 1/11 for lacerations under right eye and over left eyebrow.

Abner Lloveras: Suspended until 2/10, no contact until 1/26 for laceration over right upper eye lid.
