Strikeforce Vet Brett Rogers Reportedly Homeless; Charged with Sexual Misconduct

Former Strikeforce heavyweight Brett Rogers has been charged with sexual misconduct stemming from allegations from three different men.

According to a report from TwinCities.com, Rogers this month was charged with “two counts of fifth-degree sexual conduct and one count of interfering with someone’s privacy, according to two district complaints filed against him in Ramsey County District Court.”

Rogers, who is believed to be homeless, allegedly groped an employee while on the elevator at the George Latimer Central Library in St. Paul, Minn., this past November. According to the complaint, the man slapped Rogers’ hand away and asked what he was doing. The ex-fighter left the elevator without saying anything.

On Jan. 4, Rogers reportedly asked a man next to him in a urinal in a St. Paul skyway if he wanted to engage in a sexual act in one of the bathroom stalls. When the man said no, Rogers grabbed his buttocks. The man then left the restroom and reported the incident to police.

The third incident allegedly took place after Rogers was in Ramsey County Jail on the prior charges, as a cellmate accused Rogers of fondling him while he was sleeping. According to the court documents, Rogers had been causing “many problems” in the downtown St. Paul area in recent months.

In 2011, Rogers was sentenced to 60 days in jail after pleading guilty to a felony count of third degree assault for an incident in which he allegedly struck and strangled his wife in their home.

Rogers, 35, has competed for the likes of Strikeforce and Bellator MMA during a 28-bout professional career. His most notable victory came via 22-second technical knockout over former UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski at Strikeforce “Lawler vs. Shields” on June 6, 2009. He also lost notable fights against Fedor Emelianenko, Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett. Rogers last fought at Abu Dhabi Warriors 2 in March 2015, losing a unanimous decision to Derrick Mehmen.
