Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight king Stipe Miocic has revealed that the idea of challenging world boxing heavyweight champ Tyson Fury appeals to him more than a trilogy fight against Daniel Cormier following reports that the pugilist was training for his mixed martial arts debut.

Video recently surfaced of the 31-year-old training with UFC middleweight Darren Till.

Miocic appeared on the recent episode of ESPN’s “Ariel Helwani MMA Show” and said he was open to challenging the heavyweight boxer and even said he would happily meet him inside a boxing ring (via BJPenn.com):

“Tyson Fury is coming in the mix now, I hear,” Miocic said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. “I like a new challenge.”

Miocic said a fight with Fury is more intriguing to him than a rematch against Cormier after the Cleveland-native beat “DC” via TKO at UFC 241.

“I’d love to box him,” Stipe Miocic said. “He’s a great fighter. He’s a good dude, and I think we’d put on a good show.

The UFC champ believes he’s now settled the score with “DC,” with his latest win after labelling Cormier’s victory back at UFC 226 in July 2018 as a “fluke.”

“With DC, I didn’t fluke knock him out, I beat him. I decisively beat him. The first fight DC caught me with a punch in the first round. But [the] second fight I won. I didn’t get lucky. Right now, [a Cormier fight] doesn’t really intrigue me. More with the Tyson Fury, I like that.” Advertisement
