UFC Fight Night 159 takes place at Mexico City Arena in Mexico City on Sept. 21 and is headlined by a featherweight tilt pitting Yair Rodriguez against Jeremy Stephens. The card will air in its entirety on ESPN+.
Pettis has struggled of late, losing three of his last four Octagon appearances. Most recently, he suffered a decision defeat to Rob Font in the aforementioned 135-pound clash. Pettis’ lone win during that slump is quite notable, however, as he took a split verdict over Joseph Benavidez at UFC 225.
After scoring a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series, Perez has been victorious in four of his five promotional outings, losing only to Benavidez at “The Ultimate Fighter 28” finale. The 27-year-old Team Oyama representative is coming off a three-round verdict over Mark De La Rosa at UFC on ESPN 2.
Reneau will attempt to halt a two-bout skid after dropping consecutive decisions against Cat Zingano and Yana Kunitskaya. Aldana, meanwhile, had a three-fight winning streak snapped at UFC on ESPN 4, where she suffered a split-decision loss to Raquel Pennington.
Craig last appeared at UFC on ESPN 3, where he was knocked out in the opening stanza Alonzo Menifield to fall to 3-4 during his promotional tenure. Moreira is still seeking his first UFC triumph after suffering consecutive first-round stoppage losses to Menifield and Eryk Anders.
