Chang Hyun Kim vs. Seok Mo Kim

Round 1

Seok Mo backs up Chang Hyun with a high, slapping kick to the body, then strikes with a short hook, sending Chang Hyun backward with an exaggerated stagger against the fence. Chang Hyun walks back to close the distance, clinches up on the fence and trips Seok Mo to the ground. Seok Mo bucks Chang Hyun out of mount, but he rolls straight into a triangle choke. Chang Hyun adds an armbar to the equation to force Seok Mo to tap out.

Nobuhito Irei vs. Duk Young Jang

Round 1

Irei front kicks go off Jang’s gloves, but the Japanese fighter reaches over the center with a long left hand. Jang steps back for a second, then moves back into the pocket to land a pair of punches. Jang sticks a jab, grazes with an overhand right as the featherweights continue to test the range 90 seconds in. Jang has come up short on several high kicks but now puts a pair of kicks inside Irei’s lead leg. Irei explodes forward, tagging Jang with a series of rapid punches while charging, but Jang survives the flurry. A right hook from Irei draws a nod from the Korean fighter, and now Irei catches a kick to trip Jang to the ground. Irei stands over him for a moment before the referee orders Jang up. A front kick from Jang lands straight up the middle, rocking Irei’s head, but Irei eats it and blitzes back with more lunging punches. With one minute left in the round, Jang returns the favor with a nice right hook of his own. Irei takes a low kick, covers up as Jang comes ahead throwing five or six blocked punches. Irei gets another trip takedown late in the round and hits Jang with a diving right hand, but Jang forces him to scramble away by threatening with a heel hook.

Round 2

Irei lands a couple cracking low kicks outside, answered by an inside thigh kick by Jang, who then rushes to the fence for a trip takedown. Irei quickly reverses from underneath and pops Jang with a pair of punches as he leaves the Korean fighter on the mat. Irei stands over Jang, kicking at his legs, but gets too close and has to escape another heel hook. The ref orders Jang back to his feet with 3:30 on the clock. Irei steps forward with a pair of punches and a short elbow, prompting Jang to pull guard. They come back up and Jang pulls guard again, this time angling for a triangle on his way down, then switching to an armbar. Irei snuffs out both sub attempts and wedges Jang’s head against the fence to hit him with an elbow. Jang throws up another triangle, can’t get it and closes his guard around Irei again. Jang seems to have something with his next triangle attempt, but he’s eating hard shots from Irei as he tries to cinch the choke. Jang instead rolls for a belly-down armbar. Irei denies this as well, stands and finishes the round by jumping on Jang with one more punch.

Ji Yeon Kim vs. Yukimi Kamikaze

Round 1

Kim comes out bombing with overhand rights, but the kickboxer Kamikaze is ready with head movement and inside leg kick counters. Kim connects with a right upstairs, and suddenly the women are in a firefight, throwing huge punches in the pocket. Kim opts to wrap up Kamikaze and trip her to the ground. Kim moves straight to back mount and cinches up a body triangle to soften up Kamikaze with punches. She applies a deep rear-naked choke, and with nowhere to go, Kamikaze submits.

Jae Hoon Moon vs. Marcos Vinicius “Vina” Pancini

Round 1

Moon looks speedy out of the gate, bouncing on his toes in front of Vina, sticking a right hand on the Brazilian’s face and some hard leg kicks outside. Vina anwers with low kicks of his own and a reaching punch to the body. Moon catches Vina against the fence, cracks him with a lead right uppercut and then a left hook to the body. Vina is hurt, covering up as Moon assaults him with nonstop hooks, but the Brazilian stays alive. Moon resets and levels Vina with a perfectly placed kick to the liver. The referee lets Moon land a couple more punches as Vina crumbles to the ground, but this one was over as soon as Moon’s foot dug into Vina’s body.

Seo Hee Ham vs. Alyona Rassohyna

Round 1

Ham drops Rassohyna with a straight left and dives into her guard. Rassohyna throws an armbar, so Ham stands and walks away, motioning for the Ukranian to get up. Ham catches a kick and knocks Rassohyna to the canvas with another left. The referee wants Rassohyna back up, but as soon as she’s standing, she dives for a takedown. Ham turns the takedown attempt into full mount, only she’s not there for long as Rassohyna is able to overpower her. Ham immediately closes her guard, then catches Rassohyna in a triangle which she rolls into another full mount. Rassohyna somehow squirms out of the mounted triangle, and now Ham wants her back up. Rassohyna gets close enough to pull guard and grabs for Ham’s right leg, but the Korean is wise to it and keeps clear of the heel hook as they battle on the ground with two minutes left. Ham flattens out Rassohyna, drops a couple short punches and stands again. Rassohyna hits a single leg but can’t keep Ham underneath, and now Ham sweeps to stand once more. Rassohyna gets hold of Ham’s left leg in the closing moments and wrenches it at an unnatural angle with a calf slicer, but Ham is saved by the bell.

Round 2

Rassohyna throws an awkward kick and falls to the ground behind it, immediately going after another leglock. Ham stacks up on top, clears the leg and moves to cross side control, now leaning left to right across Rassohyna’s body. Rassohyna shrimps underneath but gets caught in an arm-triangle choke. Ham appears to have it deep as she passes to the right side and bears down hard, but Rassohyna bucks and punches before escaping from this as well. Ham gets to full mount with 2:45 on the clock, threatens to peel off with an armbar but instead goes heavy on top and grinds on Rassohyna with elbows and short punches. Rassohyna nearly rolls free with Ham botches a back-take, gets overpowered and then straddled by Ham in north-south position. Ham looks for the arm-triangle from half guard and peppers the body of Rassohyna with minor shots. The punches get bigger as Ham sits up in the final 20 seconds of the round, but they’re not enough to finish Rassohyna before the round ends.

Luis Ramos vs. Hoon Kim

Round 1

Ramos presses forward early, stalking Kim in the southpaw stance and scoring with a few leg kicks on the inside. The Brazilian hits a takedown into Kim’s guard, where he’s forced to withstand an armbar attempt, then a fairly tight triangle. Ramos turns into the choke to break it and then sets up in Kim’s high guard to drop body punches. The referee stands up the welterweights exactly halfway through the round. Ramos tries to close the gap with wide punches, misses and then ducks under a hook to shove Kim against the cage with over-unders. The ref breaks them up again with one minute left. The fighters clash kicks and Kim misses with a straight left before Ramos grabs a single-leg and hits another takedown at the horn.

Round 2

Twenty seconds into the round, Kim puts a kick straight on Ramos’ groin, and the impact on the cup makes a loud, painful noise. Ramos takes a moment to recover and then comes back to floor Kim with a double-leg on the fence. They fall away from the cage, and now both men throw short, ineffective punches as Ramos works from Kim’s closed guard. The ref orders the fighters up with about three minutes remaining. Ramos catches a kick and goes for another double-leg, this time defending a guillotine from Kim in the process. Another separation at the two-minute mark yields a little more action, with Ramos driving a right hook upstairs before diving for another takedown. Kim catches Ramos with a knee on the way in and spends a solid minute defending the shot before reversing positions on the fence. Kim ends the round with a couple knees to Ramos’ legs from the rear waistlock.

Round 3

Ramos looks exhausted at the start of the final round, standing stock-still as Kim closes in on him near the fence. When Kim gets close enough, Ramos swings a big right hand to sweep him out of range. After a minute of this, Ramos dives on a single-leg against the fence. After 30 seconds of work and no takedown, the referee splits up the welterweights. Kim gets in four or five good leg kicks before Ramos gets hold of him again and initiates another tired clinch. They’re broken up once again, and as Ramos shoots on Kim’s legs, he runs into a huge knee strike that opens a cut on his right eyebrow. Ramos is pouring blood as the cageside physician is called in to take a look. The fight will go on, and Ramos calls for noise from the crowd as they resume with 90 seconds on the clock. Ramos comes forward with renewed energy, though it takes all of 20 seconds until the Brazilian hugs Kim on the fence. They’re separated one last time with 30 seconds to go. Kim slaps with a few kicks and pressures Ramos but doesn’t let his hands go until the final moments, and this one is going to the judges.
