Ricardo Ramos to Meet Lerone Murphy at ‘Fight Island’ on July 15

A featherweight clash pitting Ricardo Ramos against Lerone Murphy has been added to the the UFC’s July 15 card on “Fight Island.”

Ag Fight was first to report the matchup. The event takes place at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi and is headlined by a featherweight scrap between Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige. In the co-main event, Frankie Edgar will make his bantamweight debut against Pedro Munhoz.

Ramos has been victorious in five of his first six Octagon appearances, with his only setback coming at the hands of Said Nurmagomedov at UFC Fight Night 144 in February 2019. Most recently, the 24-year-old Sao Paulo native tapped out Luiz Eduardo Garagorri in the opening stanza at UFC Fight Night 164 this past November.

England’s Murphy entered his Octagon debut with an 8-0 professional mark, and he remained unbeaten after battling Zubaira Tukhugov to a split draw at UFC 242 in September. The 28-year-old has finished five of his opponents by knockout or technical knockout.
