Report: Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller Arrested for Alleged Assault on California Police Officer

Ultimate Fighting Championship, Strikeforce and Dream veteran Jason Miller was arrested on Sunday in Costa Mesa, California, on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, assault and battery and public intoxication, according to a report from The Orange County Register.

Miller, 35, was at the Saddle Ranch Chop House in Costa Mesa’s Triangle Square at approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday, the report indicated. The former “Bully Beatdown” host became involved in an argument with two females, one of whom he allegedly grabbed and tried to punch before being detained by security.

“While being detained, he spit on one of the officers, which is disgusting,” Sgt. Dan Miles, of the Costa Mesa Police Department, told The Register.

Miller has had several high-profile run-ins with the law, including an October 2014 incident in which he barricaded himself inside his house when officers arrived to serve an arrest warrant for alleged stalking. He was taken into custody following a lengthy standoff with SWAT.

A former Icon Sport champion, Miller returned to the MMA scene at a Venator Fighting Championship event on May 21 in Milan, Italy, where he submitted to a second-round rear-naked choke from Mattia Schiavolin. “Mayhem” was a whopping 24 pounds overweight for the fight. Miller won 25 of his first 30 pro bouts, a run of sustained success that included victories over Denis Kang, Tim Kennedy and current UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler.
