News of Lins’ (14-4) next Octagon outing was first reported by Combate on Thursday, which announced that he will be squaring off at heavyweight against Tanner Boser (17-6-1). His opponent Boser confirmed the matchup shortly thereafter on his Instagram. The two will come to blows at an upcoming UFC event on June 27, which does not currently have a location set.

Lins made his first trip to the UFC cage in May against former champ Andrei Arlovski, and lost a decision for the first time in his career. The defeat for the 2018 Professional Fighters League heavyweight champ snapped a four-fight finish streak where he won $1 million for prevailing in the tournament. Prior to joining the UFC and PFL before that, “Monstro” competed in Bellator MMA as a light heavyweight, and lost three of his last four with the promotion all by knockout.

Boser will also be trying to right his record after a decision loss, as he dropped a unanimous verdict to Ciryl Gane in December. The Canadian known as “The Bulldozer” has reached the scorecards in 12 of his last 14 outings, with the only two stoppages in that span both knockout victories. This is a sharp contrast to his first ten career bouts, where he went the distance one time, while racking up finishes over former UFC competitors Tim Hague and Victor Valimaki.

The UFC Fight Night card taking place on June 27 will be headlined by a lightweight battle as Dustin Poirier takes on Dan Hooker in a currently undisclosed location. Additionally, Aspen Ladd will square off with Sara McMann in a pivotal women’s bantamweight matchup, while Jennifer Maia and Viviane Araujo lock horns at women’s flyweight.
