Oklahoma Gets Bellator 166, Bellator 167 on Back-to-Back Days in December

Bellator MMA on Monday unveiled plans to hold events on back-to-back days at the Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

Eduardo Dantas will defend his bantamweight championship in a rematch against Joe Warren in the Bellator 166 main event on Dec. 2. Dantas has rattled off two straight wins since losing a unanimous decision to Warren in October 2014. The 27-year-old Nova Uniao standout last appeared at Bellator 156 on June 17, when he captured the 135-pound title with a lopsided five-round unanimous decision over former teammate Marcos Galvao. Dantas owns an 8-1 record under the Bellator banner.

A staple of the Bellator organization since 2010, Warren holds wins over Dantas, Galvao, Georgi Karakhanyan, Patricio Freire, Joe Soto and L.C. Davis. He was an NCAA All-American wrestler at the University of Michigan and a Greco-Roman gold medalist at the 2006 FILA Wrestling World Championships. Warren last fought at Bellator 161 on Sept. 16, when he submitted Sirwan Kakai with a third-round guillotine choke.

Meanwhile, two-time featherweight champion Pat Curran will lock horns with John Teixeira da Conceicao in the Bellator 167 headliner on Dec. 3. Curran has recorded consecutive victories over Karakhanyan and Emmanuel Sanchez since his split decision defeat to Daniel Weichel in February 2015. The 29-year-old has compiled a 12-4 mark since arriving in Bellator six and a half years ago.

Conceicao will enter the cage on the strength of a four-fight winning streak. The Nova Uniao-trained Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt has not competed since he eked out a contentious split decision over Gleristone Santos at Bellator 143 in September 2015. Conceicao has delivered 13 of his 18 career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
