In the main attraction, Ross Houston and Nicolas Dalby squared off for the undisputed welterweight championship. Houston opened a nasty cut on Dalby’s forehand early in the first round, with the Danish fighter starting to bleed profusely. The UFC veteran didn’t lose heart, and answered with a couple of big shots at the beginning of the second round, breaking Houston’s nose. From that moment on, blood from both fighters started soaking the surface of the cage. Right in the middle of the third round, referee Marc Goddard was forced to call the bout a no-contest due to the unsafe surface, the first time such a thing has happened in such a high-profile organization. The unification of the CW welterweight belts is rescheduled to an indefinite rain check.

The co-feature saw Jai Herbert locking horns with Jack Grant for the vacant lightweight championship. After a slow start, Herbert found his pace in the second round, picking his opponent apart due to his striking ability. The end of the contest came in the third stanza, when Grant became unable to defend himself intelligently from his opponent’s strikes. Herbert (9-1) is riding now a five-bout winning streak, with all but one victory scored inside the distance.

Elsewhere, Mads Burnell became the new promotional featherweight champion after submitting Dean Trueman thanks to his trademark finisher, the Japanese Necktie, at 3:04 of the second stanza. Out of eight submission victories in Burnell’s career, this is the fourth time he has pulled off the uncommon choke.

In the middleweight championship contest of the evening, James Webb and Nathius Frederick put a 25-minute back-and-forth show which ended with a majority draw after referee Marc Goddard a point from Frederick due to a piledriver to his opponent in the fifth stanza. With the draw, Webb (6-1-1) retained his belt.

In the first title fight of the main card, Samir Faiddine smashed Sam Creasey with a perfectly-timed counter right hook followed by a series of punches, winning the flyweight championship.

Elsewhere, Modestas Bukauskas crushed Marthin Hamlet in the fourth stanza of their 205-pound contest and won the promotional light-heavyweight belt.
