Montague, McCall Cleared for Flyweight Title Scrap at TPF 10

“Uncle Creepy” will officially get his shot at the Tachi Palace Fights flyweight title.

Both challenger Ian McCall and reigning TPF 125-pound king Darrell Montague checked in under the flyweight limit at Thursday’s Tachi Palace Fights 10 weigh-ins, with McCall tipping the scales at 124.4 pounds while Montague weighed-in at 125 pounds.

Featherweight title contenders Joe Soto and Eddie Yagin also hit their marks prior to “Let the Chips Fall,” which goes down Friday from the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif., and will be streamed live on Sherdog.com at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT. A former Bellator featherweight champion, Soto weighed in at 143.4 pounds, while Yagin registered 144 pounds.

Tachi Palace Fights' third event of 2011, TPF 10 will also feature an additional battle of world-ranked flyweights, as Jussier da Silva (125.8) and Mamoru Yamaguchi (125.8) lock horns in a pivotal pairing. The card will also showcase former WEC light heavyweight king Doug Marshall (185), as “The Rhino” meets Giva Santana (185).

Additionally, in a bout designed to keep former TPF flyweight champion active, Ulysses Gomez (136) will toe the line against Drew Bittner (135.5) in a planned bantamweight contest. Welterweights Jorge Lopez (169.5) and Phil Collins (174) will also be featured, as they square off with David Marshall (170) and Kenny Ento (174), respectively.
