Mickey Gall Reveals He Passed Out During Weight Cut Prior to UFC 235 Bout

It wasn’t a memorable night for Mickey Gall at UFC 235, but the days leading up to his fight with Diego Sanchez might have been even worse.

Gall fell to Sanchez via second-round technical knockout in a preliminary welterweight bout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Gall fatigued badly in the second round, where he was finished with punches and elbows from mount at the 4:13 mark.

The 27-year old Miller Brothers MMA representative recently released a statement regarding his performance on Instagram. Most notably, Gall revealed that he passed out during his weight cut leading up to UFC 235.

“I gassed hard in there,” Gall wrote. Had an adrenaline dump. I passed out during the weight cut and my body shut down in the first round. I’m sorry to my friends family and fans. Send love to [Diego Sanchez] he’s a true legend. This was a nightmare come true for me. I promise I’ll be back soon and better.”

With the loss, Gall fell to 4-2 in the UFC. His resume includes victories against George Sullivan, Sage Northcutt and CM Punk. Gall famously earned a shot at Punk by defeating Mike Jackson at UFC Fight Night 82 in just his second professional fight.
