Michelle Waterson to Face Aisling Daly at UFC Fight Night in Hamburg on Sept. 3

Michelle Waterson will return to the Octagon following more than a year absence to face Aisling Daly at UFC Fight Night “Arlovski vs. Barnett.”

The Las Vegas-based promotion recently announced the strawweight bout. UFC Fight Night takes place at Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany, on Sept. 3 and is headlined by a heavyweight showdown between Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett.

The former Invicta FC atomweight titlist, Waterson made her Octagon debut at “The Ultimate Fighter 21” finale, where she submitted Angela Magana with a rear-naked choke 2:38 into the round. Since then, a knee injury forced her out of a proposed clash against Tecia Torres at UFC 194, and her return was further delayed by a broken hand suffered in training.

Daly, meanwhile, fought twice in 2015, suffering a decision loss to Randa Markos at UFC 186 before rebounding to take a three-round verdict over Ericka Almeida at UFC Fight Night “Holohan vs. Smolka.”
