Bellator MMA officials revealed the news on Friday. Mitrione-Thompson will be part of a Bellator 158 main draw that is headlined by a welterweight duel between Paul Daley and Douglas Lima. The card will air on Spike TV at 9 p.m. ET/9 p.m. PT on Spike TV.

There were initially questions regarding Mitrione’s availability after he was knocked down early in his encounter with Carl Seumanutafa at Bellator 157 on June 24. The UFC veteran ultimately recovered to win via knockout 3:22 into the opening frame, but he admitted not remembering the knockdown in a post-fight interview.

“Meathead” was not medically suspended by the Missouri Office of Athletics following the bout. However, he was required to submit an MRI result to the commission’s office before being cleared to compete.

Mitrione improved to 10-5 with his triumph over Seumanutafa. His previous 14 bouts all came under the UFC banner following a stint on “The Ultimate Fighter 10.” Thompson, meanwhile, will make his Bellator debut on the strength of a five-fight winning streak.
