Marina Rodriguez will replace the injured Claudia Gadelha and face Cynthia Calvillo at UFC on ESPN 7.

ESPN was first to report the new strawweight matchup. UFC on ESPN 7 takes place at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 7 and is headlined by a heavyweight tilt pitting Alistair Overeem against Walt Harris.

A former competitor on the Brazilian version of Dana White’s Contender Series, Rodriguez is 2-0-1 thus far during her tenure with the Las Vegas-based promotion. After battling Randa Markos to a majority draw in her debut, the 32-year-old Brazilian has earned back-to-back unanimous verdicts over Jessica Aguilar and Tecia Torres. Rodriguez is 12-0-1 as a professional overall, with five wins by KO/TKO and one via submission.

Calvillo has established herself as a top strawweight with victories in five of her first six Octagon appearances. In her most recent outing, Calvillo outpointed Cortney Casey at UFC on ESPN 1 on Feb. 17. The 32-year-old Californian is 8-1 as a pro, with her lone defeat coming to former 115-pound queen Carla Esparza.
