'MVP' to Headline Bellator London in November Against Derek Anderson

Two men who recorded wins in Bellator MMA the last few weeks are set to square off in the Bellator London main event this November.

The promotion announced on Friday that Michael "Venom" Page (15-1) will be taking on Derek Anderson (16-3, 1 NC) at welterweight in the headlining attraction of Bellator London. The event will take place on Nov. 23, where it will be held at The SSE Arena in London.

Page bounced back from his first career defeat in dramatic fashion, stopping Richard Kiely with a flying knee at Bellator 227 in September. The bout was not without controversy, as the two men exchanged obscene remarks and gestures throughout the bout, ultimately leading to referee Dan Miragliotta deducting a point from the brash Brit. This did not prove to be a factor, as "MVP" finished the fight shortly thereafter. With the victory, he became the third fighter in company history to record multiple knockouts with flying knees. Prior to that performance, Page lost for the first time at the hands of Douglas Lima, who did not fall for any of Page's traps or antics and scored a second-round knockout in the lightweight grand prix.

Anderson has captured two decisions in the last two years, most recently beating Guilherme Vasconcelos on the scorecards at Bellator 229 this October. His last defeat came against future welterweight grand prix quarterfinalist Derek Campos, where the Texan took a unanimous verdict over Anderson at Bellator 170 in January 2017. "The Barbaric" holds a relatively balanced record, with five wins from the judges, five by knockout and six by tapout.
