LFA 86 Weigh-in Results: Flyweight Championship Headliner Cleared

The Legacy Fighting Alliance’s jam-packed July rages on with LFA 86, which puts the vacant flyweight belt on the line in the headliner, and only one fighter has missed weight.

Squaring off for the 125-pound title in the main event will be Greg Fischer against Jimmy Flick. Fischer (10-1) has spent the overwhelming majority of his career in the Shogun Fights promotion in Maryland, winning all ten bouts with that organization. He will be making his promotional debut with a record that has seen half of his wins come by submission, with the other half on the scorecards. The Maryland native had no issues making weight, coming in at 124.8 pounds.

Vying for the empty flyweight throne will be Flick (13-5), who is no stranger to the LFA cage. Both of his appearances in 2017 and 2018 ended with Flick taking home submission wins. Like his opponent, “The Brick” prefers the submission over ending a fight with strikes, recording 11 of his 13 career victories by tapout. Flick hit the scales at 124.6 pounds to make the championship affair official.

Unlike the previous two LFA cards, no fight was affected by the coronavirus. One fighter did tip the scales over the limit: Fabio Cherant (213.6)*, who blew past the light heavyweight limit by 7.6 pounds. “The Water Buffalo” was fined an undisclosed percentage of his purse; as his adversary Erick Murray came in at 203.8 pounds, Cherant will hold nearly a 10-pound weight advantage officially.

LFA 86 will air live on UFC Fight Pass in its entirety starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
