LFA 100 Weigh-in Results: Nate Smith Misses Weight for Flyweight Title Bout

A one-way title fight will now cap off the Legacy Fighting Alliance's 100th numbered event.

The LFA is back for a second straight week, this time with another belt on the line. Headlining LFA 100 is a flyweight title bout between Victor Altamirano and Nate Smith for the vacant championship that was last held by Jimmy Flick. However, the title fight comes with a significant asterisk, as only Altamirano is eligible for the belt after Smith weighed 2.6 pounds over the flyweight limit.

Both flyweights are coming into the bout with plenty of hype. Altamirano (8-1) holds the record for most wins in LFA history as he is 8-0 inside the promotion. He most recently won a split decision over Chris Ocon and submitted Lloyd McKinney with a triangle choke. The only defeat that “El Magnifico” suffered was to Jarred Brooks in Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting. The Texas native officially weighed in at 123.4 pounds.

Meanwhile, Smith (6-1) made an impressive LFA debut last year as he knocked out Sean Stebbins in the second round. An appearance in the Dana White’s Contender Series saw “The Savage” lose to Flick, but the Chicago native will look to rebound from the loss but cannot claim gold in this appearance. Smith stepped on the scales heavy at 127.6 pounds.

LFA 100 will air live on UFC Fight Pass starting at 9 p.m. ET. A two-fight preliminary card will air live on the promotion’s Facebook page earlier that night.

LFA 100 Weigh-in Results:

Victor Altamirano (123.4) vs. Nate Smith (127.6)*
Charles Johnson (124.4) vs. Karlee Pangilinan (125.6)

Amber Danielson-Smith (132.6) vs. Emmanuela Moliere (134.8)

* Smith missed weight by 2.6 pounds, has been fined a percentage of his purse and is no longer eligible to win the title.
