Although the Ultimate Fighting Championship has not officially announced the event, a pair of light heavyweights will square off at UFC Kazakhstan in June.
Abreu lost in his last time out to Shamil Gamzatov in November, dropping a split verdict to the undefeated Shamil Gamzatov. Prior to the loss, “White Bear” beat Sam Alvey on the scorecards at UFC on ESPN 4 in July 2019, and made his unsuccessful promotional debut against Magomed Ankalaev that February. The Brazilian has finished 14 of his 15 opponents in victory, prevailing for the first time by judges’ verdict against Alvey.
Antigulov has lost his last two by first-round knockout to Michal Oleksiejczyk and Ion Cutelaba in the last two years. Each of his four UFC appearances have ended in the first round, as he tapped Marcos Rogerio de Lima and Joachim Christensen with chokes in 2016 and 2017. Antigulov has appeared once per year for the organization, and like his opponent, all but one of his triumphs have come by stoppage.
UFC Kazakhstan will go down at the Astana Arena in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, on June 13. Headlining the card is a potential bantamweight title eliminator between Marlon Moraes and Petr Yan.
