Emmett has rebounded from his resounding defeat and the first time he had been stopped in 2018 with a pair of devastating knockouts against Michael Johnson and Mirsad Bektic in 2019. In his last three wins, the Team Alpha Male product has recorded as many knockouts as the rest of his career combined.
Burgos also came back from a tough knockout loss in 2018 to rattle off several impressive wins. Tapping Kurt Holobaugh with an armbar in November 2018, Burgos went on to take an exciting split decision against Cub Swanson in May 2019. His last appearance saw “Hurricane” finish Makwan Amirkhani with body shots with less than 30 seconds left in the fight. Like his opponent, Burgos resides within the top 15 of the Sherdog.com official rankings.
This UFC Fight Night card is scheduled for June 20, but it does not have a location or a venue. The previous headliner between Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov is not billed for the event, although Roxanne Modafferi will take on Lauren Murphy in a potential flyweight title eliminator at the event.
