Jose
Aldo has delivered an ultimatum. Now it’s time to see if the
UFC will agree to his terms.

The former featherweight champ took to Instagram on
Wednesday to demand a title shot or at the very least, a rematch
with Conor
McGregor. Aldo lost his belt to the Irishman at UFC
194, falling via knockout in just 13 seconds.
“Hi everyone. I was quiet for a while because I was waiting for my
rematch based on how the fight went dow,” Aldo wrote. “In fact, I
was already training for it, but apparently I was wrong. So I
wanted to make something clear to [the] UFC: For everything I have
done, everything I have accepted and mostly how the fight ended, I
will not accept any other fight other than a title shot . My only
exception would be fighting ‘The Notorious , at any time,
anywhere...”
Prior to facing McGregor, the Nova Uniao standout had established
himself as one of the sport’s pound-for-pound greats and was the
only featherweight champion the Las Vegas-based promotion had ever
known. His shocking loss to McGregor ended an 18-fight winning
streak dating back to 2006.
At the moment, McGregor is booked to face Rafael dos
Anjos in a lightweight championship tilt at UFC 197 on March 5.
The Dublin native has already stated that he plans on returning to
145 pounds to defend his belt there, as well. However, it is
unclear when Aldo would get a second chance at McGregor, as
Frankie
Edgar also has a legitimate claim to a 145-pound title
shot.
“Keep [your] word,” Aldo wrote while mentioning UFC CEO Lorenzo
Fertitta, UFC President Dana White as well as the promotion itself.
“I still believe in the company that I work for.”
