Aldo’s coach, Andre Pederneiras, confirmed with ESPN that the fighter signed a new eight-fight deal with the UFC in May.
Regarded by some as the greatest featherweight of all time, Aldo was the UFC champion from 2011 to 2015. He defended the 145-pound title seven times before falling to Conor McGregor at UFC 194. The 32-year-old Brazilian had a two-fight winning streak snapped in a unanimous decision loss to Volkanovski at UFC 237.
