Jon Jones Vows to ‘Expose’ Francis Ngannou: ‘You Ain’t Scaring Nobody’

Jon Jones isn’t impressed by Francis Ngannou’s knockout power.

The two UFC stars have continued to trade barbs over the past week, fueling interest for a future heavyweight showdown in the Octagon. Jones fired the latest shot on Twitter in response to a Francis Ngannou post inquiring, “Hey Jonny, are you still there?” Ngannou’s question is a play on Jones’ “Hey p---y, are you still there?” comment to Daniel Cormier while the two light heavyweight rivals were unknowingly still wearing live microphones following an ESPN interview in 2014.

“First you can save the rest of your tongue pictures for your other homies, and yes I’m right here, just waking up from watching that [Derrick] Lewis fight again,” Jones wrote on Twitter in response to Ngannou. “You ain’t scaring nobody, I saw your heart. You’re a big old mouse, I’ll expose you.”

Jones, of course, is referencing Ngannou’s lackluster decision loss to Lewis at UFC 226, where “The Predator” landed just 11 significant strikes over the course of a 15-minute bout. The Nigerian-born Frenchman appeared to be gun shy on the heels of a lopsided loss to Stipe Moicic in a heavyweight title fight, but he has since rebounded to earn four consecutive first-round stoppages in UFC competition.

Whether a Jones vs. Ngannou showdown comes to fruition remains to be seen. The reigning light heavyweight champion has a few interesting possibilities in his division, including a rematch with Dominick Reyes or a showdown with surging contender Jan Blachowicz. Ngannou’s path is less clear, as he is stuck in a holding pattern as he waits for the UFC to book the trilogy between Miocic and Cormier.
