Jon Jones Passes UFC 232 Post-Fight Drug Tests Issued by USADA, CSAC

Fight fans can now breathe a partial sigh of a relief, as Jon Jones appears to have passed the drug tests issued by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency and California State Athletic Commission immediately after UFC 232.

According to Brett Okamoto of ESPN, who spoke with California State Athletic Commission executive director Andy Foster, all of Jones’ tests from the night of the fight were clean. This includes clearing him of the "picogram" controversy, where metabolites of banned substance turinabol were found in his system leading up to the event.

However, as a condition for licensing Jones for the event, the CSAC made it mandatory for Jones to enroll in the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association, and those results have not come back yet.

UFC 232 took place on Dec. 29 at The Forum in Inglewood, California, and was headlined by the light heavyweight title fight between Jones and Gustafsson. Less than one week prior to the event, the promotion suddenly relocated the event from Las Vegas to California when tests came back showing Jones had trace amounts of turinabol in his system. As the Nevada State Athletic Commission could not properly evaluate the situation in time for the event, they would not have cleared him, so the UFC decided to take the show to California instead.
