Injuries Shake Up Next Week’s Bellator 160 Card

With just over a week to go before Bellator 160 takes place, two combatants on the main card have sustained injuries, shaking up the lineup and forcing last-minute replacements to fill the slots. Henry Corrales and Lena Ovchynnikova both were injured in training and were removed from the card.

In Corrales’ absence, original opponent A.J. McKee will now take on Cody Walker but with Ovchynnikova out, it looks like Jaimelene Nievera might not have a suitable replacement in time and is currently in limbo. Because of that, Bubba Jenkins and Georgi Karakhanyan will now fight in a featured featherweight duel on the Spike TV main card.

Bellator 160 will be anchored by a pivotal lightweight showdown between former Ultimate Fighting Championship and World Extreme Cagefighting 155-pound champion Benson Henderson and former Bellator MMA featherweight king Patricio Freire. The event, which takes place on Aug. 26 inside the Honda Center in Anaheim will see Saad Awad take on Derek Anderson in a lightweight co-feature.

The preliminary card will host the pro MMA debut of Kevin Ferguson Jr., the son of the late “Kimbo Slice.”

Bellator 160 will be televised live on Spike beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
