Gerald Harris Scores Frightening KO of Aaron Cobb in Legacy 63 Main Event

Gerald Harris was not pleased on Thursday as the welterweight contender had to pack on loads of additional weight just to be able to fight. Opponent Aaron Cobb missed weight so badly that the two met in a heavyweight bout in the headliner of Legacy FC 63 on AXS TV and Harris made him pay.

Harris, known for his brute strength and powerful slams, took his time with Cobb but once they clinched along the cage late in the first, the Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran scooped Cobb up and slammed him down in brutal fashion. Cobb was slammed onto the back of his head and his lights were instantly turned out. It was as spectacular and frightening a slam that the sport has seen since Quinton Jackson, one that put a cap on Legacy Fighting Championship for good as the promotion will soon merge with Resurrection Fighting Alliance under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner.

In the co-feature, Bilal Williams tore into Trey Houston like a knife through warm butter as he rattled dozens of punches off his head. Finally, a pair of right hands dropped Houston for good, prompting referee Kevin Nix to jump in and halt the mugging at the 1:56 mark of the first.

In other televised action, Levi Mowles stopped Jimmy Flick with a tsunami punches from on top at 1:27 of the second; Terry “TeeJay” Britton knocked out Diego Pichilinque at 3:18 of the first; Kyle Driscoll edged William Walker via unanimous decision in a thrilling three-round battle; Jesse Hernandez stopped Josh Lanier with punches in just 53 seconds in what was a questionable referee’s decision; and Kathina Catron earned a unanimous nod over Ariel Beck after three torrid rounds.
