Gaudinot Returns to Flyweight, Faces Lineker at UFC on Fox 3

Louis Gaudinot’s stint as a UFC bantamweight is officially over.

Promotion officials announced Friday that “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 14 veteran will square off with newcomer John Lineker at UFC on Fox 3.

Headlined by a pivotal five-round lightweight scrap between Jim Miller and Nate Diaz, UFC on Fox 3 takes place May 5 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J.

Gaudinot, 27, won the Ring of Combat flyweight title before joining the cast of “TUF 14” as a bantamweight. After dispatching Paul McVeigh in the opening round of the reality series, the New Yorker was submitted by Dustin Pague in his next exhibition bout. Gaudinot made his official UFC debut at the live season finale in December, falling by knockout to the much larger Johnny Bedford.

Lineker rides a 13-fight winning streak heading into his showdown with Gaudinot. The Brazilian has finished four of his last five victims and owns 11 of his 19 career wins by either knockout or submission. Most recently, Lineker competed on Sept. 10, edging Iliarde Sabino Belo dos Santos by split decision at Jungle Fight 32.
