Frankie Saenz vs. Jonathan Martinez Added to UFC’s Aug. 1 Card in Las Vegas

Frankie Saenz will square off with Jonathan Martinez when the UFC returns to Las Vegas on Aug. 1.

MMAjunkie.com was first to report the bantamweight booking. UFC Fight Night takes place at the UFC Apex and is headlined by a women’s bantamweight showdown between Holly Holm and Irene Aldana.

The 39-year-old Saenz will compete for the first time since March 2019, when he suffered a first-round TKO defeat to Marlon Vera at UFC Fight Night 148. Saenz is 5-4 in the Octagon and 13-6 as a professional overall.

Martinez, meanwhile, had a two-bout winning streak snapped at UFC 247, where he dropped a split verdict against Andre Ewell. The Factory X representative owns an 11-3 mark that includes triumphs over Pingyuan Liu and Wuliji Buren in UFC competition.
