Initially scheduled for UFC
251 on July 11, the bout has been moved to
UFC Fight Night on July 15, where it will be the co-main event.
Edgar vs. Munhoz was slated for the prelims at UFC 251.
Ag Fight was first to report the change. Both events will be
held at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Edgar will make his 135-pound debut after successful stints at
featherweight and lightweight in the UFC. “The Answer” is currently
on a two-bout skid after falling to Max
Holloway in a 145-pound title fight at UFC 240 and suffering a
first-round TKO loss against Chan Sung
Jung at UFC Fight Night 165.
Munhoz has won seven of his last nine Octagon appearances dating
back to 2016. Most recently, however, he dropped a unanimous
decision to Aljamain
Sterling at UFC 238 in June 2019.
