The promotion announced Monday that Garcia will serve as its in-cage announcer for the upcoming season, which begins on May 9. Garcia spent 15 years with the WWE working as an announcer, interviewer, host and national anthem singer for the company’s Raw and Smackdown programs.

“I’m looking forward to stepping in the cage and getting back to introducing fighters to the masses, something I truly love and have missed,” Garcia said in a release. “What I find most intriguing about the PFL is that every fight matters. Each fighter enters the cage knowing they are competing for a shot at a title and million-dollar prize. There is so much drama surrounding that moment, and I’m honored to help bring it to life for fans in the arena and watching at home.”

Over the course of her career, Garcia was the first woman to host WrestleMania, the WWE’s signature annual event. She has also performed the national anthem for numerous pro sports leagues including NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, NASCAR, the U.S. Open and the Summer Olympics.

PFL’s season opening event takes place at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y., and will feature welterweights and women’s lightweights. The featured bout of the evening will pit 2018 middleweight winner Louis Taylor against Chris Curtis in a 170-pound contest. The card will air on ESPN 2 following prelims on ESPN+.
