Former M-1 Challenge Heavyweight King Marcin Tybura Signs with UFC

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has increased the depth of its heavyweight talent pool by signing former M-1 Challenge titlist Marcin Tybura to a multi-fight contract.

Tybura’s management announced the deal, and the fighter confirmed the news on his Facebook page. Exact terms of the contract were not disclosed, and the UFC has not officially announced the signing.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 249 pounds, Tybura was generally regarded as one of the world’s top heavyweight prospects not competing in the UFC. The 30-year-old Pole owns a 13-1 professional mark, with 11 of his triumphs coming by knockout, technical knockout or submission.

Tybura began his pro tenure with 12 consecutive triumphs, capturing the M-1 Challenge heavyweight crown along the way. He suffered the first loss of his career in May, falling to Stephan Puetz via third-round doctor stoppage at M-1 Challenge 57. Tybura returned to the win column with a victory against Ante Delija this past September.
