“I can’t wait to get back out there and headline RFA 40,” Sklavos said. “Chico Camus is a very good fighter, he’s well-rounded, and an eight-time UFC vet. It’s a golden opportunity for me to show the world what I can do against top competition. I will show everyone what I can do on July 15th.”
Camus, meanwhile, is looking to rebuild his career after going 1-3
in his last four bouts in the UFC before being released from the
promotion. He rebounded with a win over Matt Brown at
RFA 36 in March and hopes to continue trending upward against the
young contender.
“I’m excited to get back in there and scrap,” Camus explained. “Czar Sklavos is a talented opponent that likes to get in there and bang. Flyweight is the most exciting division, because we are fast and keep the fight moving. I’m ready to get in there and dance at RFA 40.”
Also slated for RFA 40 will be a bantamweight scrum between Marvin Blumer and Terrion Ware, which will serve as the card’s co-main event.
Additionally, RFA revealed that Chase Waldon will meet Austen Heidlage in a middleweight clash while Dan Moret will lock horns with fellow featherweight Alex Gilpin. Chad Curry will take on Carl Wittstock in a lightweight duel as well.
RFA 40 will be televised live on AXS TV beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. More bouts will be announced in the coming weeks.
